I have old keys on my keychain that I need to throw away. These keys always get in the way of me finding the right key to open my home. It takes me an extra 3 minutes to open my door, for no other reason than I for some psychotic reason cant bring myself to throw away the old keys.
But this is an ongoing problem not only in my life but many others. We get comfortable with dysfunctional situations because they are familiar.
The old: “The devil you know is better than the devil you dont know.”
I have TONS of old stuff around me that I need to throw away. But unlike alot of people in my life I know that old stuff will always be there even if its old & useless. While this is completely logical, this isnt effective in making room for better new stuff that works & can help me move forward in life effeciently.
It takes faith to throw away the old & believe that the space left behind will be filled with new & improved stuff. I don’t have to cling to old stuff because God is eternal and He will be with me through thick and thin.
So I am going to take a deep breath, face my fear and throw away the useless keys.
What in your life needs to be thrown away, to make room for God’s best in your life ?
