He's been there on the bad days and, in the good days. When I come home from a two-day recording session and when I return from another concert, he is there to ring my bell. He is the beloved father of our amazing daughter, Lily. That's Matthew and, he's my guy!
I was having a walk in the quarter the other day and, I run into some people who were dancing in the street. It had been a long time since I had a walk and I was amazed to see that still, the youth in the streets are dancing. People embraced me and we had a small singing stance with the boom boxes looping some tunes of mine for an hour or some. I really had a great time!
I have been working on some new songs lately. Usually, all it takes is my guitar and the drum machine. Then I come to the point where I need to hear the real thing! I have spent literally unlimited hours in this room and, I'm never getting bored. Because this is my place!
That concert was amazing! I had a really great time with all you people who honored me with your presence! I will never forget this day. Especially the applause at the end that made me perform another five songs, this is something all artists should feel at least once in their lifetime. THANK YOU!

As my fast comes to end I am becoming a bit clearer on the kind of woman I want to be. Not what I want to necessarily have but how I want to operate. I believe when you master the how and why of being, what you produce and achieve will CONSISTENTLY be favorable. To […]
When we reduce our culture to simply a scale or a music form, we do a diservice to the sights, smells, tastes and mentalities that make up the black experience. This is something I realized watching about the overall cultural war about the blues in jazz. Black people want so badly for white people to […]
